Can't change resolution
#1
I've been playing the game for about 3 days and whenever I change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 I get a pop up that says "You can change the resolution to a higher setting". Does anyone know what is causing this problem? It's only this game that doesn't let me use 1920 x 1080

The actual pop up says "You can set to a higher game resolution than the present one." word by word if that helps

Do you have the resolution of your screen monitor in 1920 x 1080 also? Can be that

It seems to be bugged and the same happens with mine and I have to change it manually through the .ini file.

Edit - I wrote a better guide here, let me know if it works for you Smile

To do so, please follow these instructions
  • Ensure SoulWorker is closed
  • Open Windows Explorer
  • Head to your game directory (e.g. C:/Games/Soulworker)
  • Find general.ini
  • Right click the file and press edit
  • You'll see a range of options here
  • The options you're looking for are:
    - WIDTH *Change to 1920
    - HEIGHT *Change to 1080
    - SCREENMODE *0 is Bordered and change to 1 if you want borderless fullscreen
  • CTRL+S To Save
  • Load up Soul Worker as usual

Sadly I already tried that and it didn't change the resolution when I started up the game. I guess I'll just deal with the resolution problems I have with the game, thanks for the help though.

That's odd, when you checked the same general.ini file after you loaded the game (and no changes were made) were the numbers changed in the resolution? Or were they what you had originally manually inputted?

If it's not saving the changes, perhaps change the .ini file and then change it to read only so that the game can't overwrite the changes?
